Carat; weight expression of precious stones.
Characteristics; internal interruptions in crystalline structure.
Crown; top half of a faceted diamond
Culet; small facet at the point of the pavillion, (to keep stone from chipping).
Facets; polished planes on finished diamond, displays characteristic
"adamantine" luster
Girdle; outer edge of diamond that gives the stone it's basic shape.
